I can make pancakes. Breandan showed me. I can make a lot of things if you’d let me use the stove.

I’m not a little girl anymore! I can cook on the stove, honest! I won’t burn anything. I mean it!

Why are there burn spots on the stove?

Dearest big brother Aichear, my favorite biggest  brother in the whole world,

The reason there are burn spots on the stove is because of a great incident involving white flour and fire. It was a frightening display of the power behind the temperature knobs on the stove, one that I shan’t be wanting to see again.

Again, I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to do that. I didn’t realize the numbers on the stove meant how hot the stove got. I thought that meant how fast your food was done.

Since when is it necessary to torment your little sister? Aileen- you have yet to explain yourself.

Dear Aichear,

Damhán told me that the higher the numbers were on the stove knobs the faster things cooked, but only big people could use the bigger numbers because it doesn’t work for people of a certain age, like myself. I found his explanation very curious and lacking, so I tried it. I won’t ever do it again. I promise.
