Prayers for Bodie/Fundraiser

So.

This week, I got my first experience with calling in a vet for a wounded horse.
The veterinarians twitching (and sedating) Bodie to check his wound.

Bodie has decided this was the week he would experiment with "what happens when you stick your back hoof through the fence and cut it with wire". In short, Bodie nearly cut his hoof off and now has a wound that goes through his heel into his hoof, it's about two inches deep. I found him standing under his shelter Thursday morning around six when I came out to ride before I went to work. Promptly calling the vet, we had them come out and waited anxiously to find what was to become of my favorite Bodie boy.
Bodie's wound. That is about two inches deep, I believe. Not sure, they just told me
it goes reallyyyyy far in there.

It's never good when the vet comes out, takes one look at your horse's leg, and instead of telling you that you'd overreacted and he'll be fine, comments, "Oh. That's bad."

It's not what I wanted to hear. After they checked it out they told me if the joint was affected by the wire cut that we'd have to have a very serious talk, the kind of talk no horse owner wants to have. But the joint wasn't affected, (thank the Lord!) and they determined to help him along, he'd have to go to the vet.

So call the neighbor I did, and out came my wonderful friend and neighbor L to come and bring Bodie to the equine hospital. We got him there and settled him in, informed he'd be staying there at least until the next day to get a second evaluation.
Bodie's cast. I plan on drawing hearts on it tomorrow. ;)

Yesterday Bodie had his second evaluation and got put in a cast, but the vets are keeping him until Monday to make sure he doesn't get an infection. Our wonderful veterinarian told me that if I want Bodie to get healed up, he's going to have to be stalled for several weeks. His cast has to remain on for three weeks, with a possible second one put on later if there is no way to suture his wound together. This posed a bit of a problem since all we have is a lean to and Bodie is really, really good at destroying things.
Bodie in his stall at the vet's. He's telling me he'd rather not be there. ;)

Bodie decided to put all his hay in the water for fun. I feel bad for the vets who have to clean
his stall. ;)

Today things have been arranged and Bodie will be boarded at a boarding stable down the road from us until he is out of his cast and can come back to his own paddock. I'm so grateful that I didn't lose Bodie and he's still around, but I really, really need prayers that he doesn't get infection and he doesn't get too crazy having to be stalled for what looks like a month or so. This also leads into another prayer I want to ask you readers, I'm having a fundraiser to help with the expenses Bodie has wracked up with a four day/night stay at the equine hospital and his pending bills for his boarding at the barn up the hill.

The first thing I want to say is please, please, please don't donate any money unless you feel led to, the last thing I want to do is make anyone feel obligated! It helps if you just share the fundraiser, please don't feel like you need to give anything. :) And if you do donate, don't feel like you have to give any large amount of money, even a dollar helps him out. <3 I cannot tell you how blessed I've felt the last three days when the phone calls and texts and messages have come in with people telling me about how they are praying for me and Bodie. I know, I know, he's just a horse, but he is my first and only horse and is practically my child. I love Bodie so much. So if you want to help, prayers are first and foremost the most important to me! Only donate if you feel led to, I am putting this out there to see if I can bring a little bit of funds in to help with the bills.

Thank you all for praying and being such good readers. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a blessed Sabbath tomorrow! God bless you all, and thank you for praying! <3

A nicer picture of Bodie. He's having fun eating
all the neighbor's grass. ;)
