So. This week, I got my first experience with calling in a vet for a wounded horse. The veterinarians twitching (and sedating) Bodie to check his wound. Bodie has decided this was the week he would experiment with "what happens when you stick your back hoof through the fence and cut it with wire". In short, Bodie nearly cut his hoof off and now has a wound that goes through his heel into his hoof, it's about two inches deep. I found him standing under his shelter Thursday morning around six when I came out to ride before I went to work. Promptly calling the vet, we had them come out and waited anxiously to find what was to become of my favorite Bodie boy. Bodie's wound. That is about two inches deep, I believe.
