Mornelly Announcement
It has come. The time is upon us. In fact, the time has been coming for quite some time now, but I keep putting off the time.
But now no more, I cannot put it off any longer! It is time to unveil my 2016 surprise for my readers, which I've been waiting to announce for quite a while.
And so without further ado, I unveil for you a special screenshot of a special manuscript.
Readers, I am proud to announce that as of a week ago Saturday, I-6: Legend of the Mornellys Volume One was completed. What I'm telling you, my dear readers, is that there is going to be a Mornelly book.
I am so excited to tell you all this, and somewhat nervous, too. The goal is to have the book up on Amazon by November of this year, Lord willing. I'm not going to make any promises due to my life right now, but I also want to have you readers be my "conscience" so I actually edit this monster of a book! This is a collection of stories about the Mornellys, eighty percent of them having never been read on the blog. They include:
Legend of the Mornellys
Damhán's Tree House
The Rescue
The Most Excellent Gerhard's Excellent Baby Bruder Experience of Excellence!
And many more!
I'm still working out the formatting kinks, as well as how many stories I should include in the volume. In fact that is probably something I will ask you readers for advice on later- Volume One consists of six long stories and six short stories, putting it over 120,000 words and up to 400 pages. The point of it being a volume is the fact that it's a collection of several stories that sometimes connect, but more often than not are stand-alone stories. Sort of like a TV season, which is a collection of episodes of a TV show. I may end up cutting the short stories out and holding them back as extra, depending on if the cost gets too high to keep them in the volume. We shall see.
I am so excited to pass this information on to you, readers! I wanted to wait until the last story was written and it is done. I have an editor lined up to go through the book and I even have an illustrator set up to do the illustrations. The thing is I will need you readers to help keep me accountable- I have publish-phobia and am quite timid about putting my work out there for the world to read and criticize. But after several emails and requests, the Mornellys now have their own book with several more to follow. This took a total of nine months to put together, so it's no small project to edit!
Also, there are two new sections on the Mornelly Home Page for you readers to check out, which includes a new updates page to keep you readers in the know as to what's happening with the book, as well as a new page with a chronological list of Mornelly stories on the blog. I am going to need all the encouragement I can get putting this together, it's quite daunting and scary!
Thank you readers for all your support, in all honesty the Mornellys was originally going to be a short story I was planning on selling to a magazine until you readers told me how much you liked them. After consulting with the Aichear and Bran as to what I should do with their stories, they agreed I could write books about them, and so here we are nine months later with the first completed volume! Now for the editing...
So there you have it, that's the announcement. Thank you readers for inspiring me and loving the Mornellys as much as I do. I hope you are excited as I am about this project! Thanks for your support! This wouldn't be in the works without all the encouragement you gave me. So I thank you!
Here's to the next couple months! May the Lord bless you!

DeleteHow exciting! I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled this makes me. Even though I am not the most regular commenter as I would like to be, I still really enjoy your works! I would love to be a second set of eyes as far as editing goes if that would be helpful but I'm sure you have already gotten several offers. I'm not the best proofreader but I enjoy it and would love to help you out if I could be of service! Congratulations, Friend! I am so happy for you!
