The Infinity Dreams Award

Well, I was tagged by the wonderful and amazing Jesseca Dawn from Whimsical Writings to do the Infinity Dream Award! Thanks Jesseca for the tag!

Okay, so here we go, eleven facts about myself…

1. I am originally from California but have lived in Washington for exactly half of my life (as of this year, yay! One more year until I’m an official Washingtonian! ;D)
2. I know the Russian alphabet, but I can’t actually read Russian yet. I can read a few words here and there. Still learning!
3. I’m Swedish/Norwegian/Irish/Mexican/American and proud of all my nationalities!
4. Writing is how I sort out my feelings, thoughts and prayers so I can make sense of them and myself.
5. I grew up on Indiana Jones and to date he’s still my favorite adventurer. Indiana Jones was what inspired me to write.
6. My very first story I ever wrote was about Captain Hook, my second was an Indiana Jones and Thomas the Tank Engine story.
7. I love and have read Revelation several times over and find it a very fascinating book.
8. When people meet me I think they often perceive me as somewhat childish, (which in a way I am, I guess. I’m very loud and goofy and talk wayyy too much.) but when you get to know me you realize I do, in fact, have some sense in that crazy mind of mine. ;) I also come off as very friendly and outgoing and carefree, but I tend to have a quieter, thoughtful side that I only share with people I really trust and know well.
9. I am currently the youngest tutor at an ESL (English Second Language) school and the youngest employee at my work, with all my coworkers in both groups being over the age of forty-five. O_o
10. Last year was the first time I’d ever written anything somewhat “scary and sad”, though I promise it ends really good! :P It’s just everything leading up to it was somewhat… well, dark and scary? ;) It’s titled Ivan and is my current editing project.
11. I actually really enjoy studying politics and economics, as well as cultures and histories of the world. My favorite areas to study/I am currently studying are the Nordic countries (Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Sweden and Finland and their surrounding territories. Random fact, there is an island that’s part of Denmark that’s called Zealand, where the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, is on. Wanna know where we get New Zealand from? :D) and the Slavic countries, mainly the Eastern Slavic countries. (Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.) I find political and economical structure of the world today very interesting and love to compare everyone’s governments and how they work. Plus history is my favorite thing in the whole world along with languages and cultures and everything sooo yeah I get very excited about these things. ;)

Okay, now for the questions!

1. What is your favorite movie?
Please don’t ask me this. Please. I LIKE TOO MANY! ;) Favorite Christian movie: Courageous. Favorite historical fiction movie: Bridge of Spies or Hunt for Red October, which the latter could be considered more “what if” historical license. ;) Favorite animated movie: Kung Fu Panda 2 or Brave. Favorite documentary: The Man Who Saved the World or maybe Agent 146: A Spy for the Third Reich.

2. Favorite genre of books?
Historical fiction and biography.

3. Books that are releasing in 2016 you are looking forward to reading?
Uhm… I don’t know. I haven’t actually kept up on any new books for this year. I have no idea what’s coming out. I am eager to read the Bridge of Spies book and I have to wait several weeks to get it because there’s such a long waiting list, so I guess that counts.

4. If you could travel anywhere in the U.S., where would you go?
Kansas, Indiana, Tennessee, Iowa, Florida, and wherever all my other pen pals live. :)

5. Do you play any instruments?
No. I am sadly lacking in this area. I can play piano by ear and just bang out tunes but it’s not that great.

6. What is your favorite classical song?
The Russian Dance! Surprise! ;)

7. Surprise! You've just been given a ticket to meet your favorite author! Who is it?
Well guess I need a ticket to go see Jesseca Dawn, because Frank Peretti and Susan Marlow live right around where I do! :D

8. Favorite outdoor activity?
Horseback riding!

9. Would you rather do laundry or clean the kitchen? (I know, I'm making you work ;P)
Clean the kitchen. I hate laundry with a passion.

10. What is your favorite book in the Bible and why is it your favorite?
I can’t. Answer. This. ;) Seriously. Philippians, Galatians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Revelation, Exodus, Genesis, Luke, etc. etc. etc. :)

11: Who is your favorite historical character and why?
Biblical or post Bible? Because Biblical of course is Jesus and then Peter. ;) Jesus because He saved us all, Peter because I really, really relate to him. He could say one thing real smart and then the next put his foot in his mouth. I understand how that goes, I do it all the time. His latter life is also very inspiring. I’d say my favorite post Bible historical figure is Sergei Kourdakov, a former KGB operative who, after leading over 150 raids on Christians, became a Christian himself after he defected to Canada. I find his story so inspiring and just so sad but so good.

Alrighty, now it’s my turn to ask eleven questions.
You’ve been warned. ;)

1. You have been thrown into  Western story! What sort of job would you have in this story and would you find yourself in trouble a lot?

2. Time to travel! You can only go to these countries: Germany, Denmark, India, Serbia or Mexico. Where do you go and why?

3. You are going to travel in the USA for the summer and these are the states you can go to: Georgia, Texas, Utah, Colorado or Missouri. Where do you go and why?

4. Would you rather fish or hunt turkeys?

5. You have been kidnapped by vikings! Do you
  1. Let them push you around and tell you what to do
  2. talk their ears off and drive them crazy or
  3. make best friends with them and join their gang?

6. You have the choice between either working with the characters from Star Wars or the characters from Indiana Jones. Who do you choose and why?

7. Do you prefer animated movies or real movies?

8. What’s your favorite Christian movie?

9. If you were to meet one character from any book, movie, TV show, etc. Who would it be and why?

10. Monkeys are attacking your house! Do you call pest control or take care of the monkeys yourself?

11. And finally:
If you were to meet one of the disciples of Christ, which one would you want to meet and what three questions would you ask him?

Andddd since everyone I would have tagged got tagged, I’m just going to tag:

And whomever else wants to answer these questions! :D

And all the rules. :)

  1. Oh wow. This was so fun to read. Some of my answers were similar to yours. I mean, really, who can name A favorite movie or A favorite book of the Bible? Seriously? Ahem.
I also relate to Peter. Yeah. Me and my big mouth get into lots of trouble together. We have a love/hate relationship. :P
Hope you and your family are doing well. Our family prays for you daily. :)

    1. Hahaha, yes, as you probably noticed "Red October" has some swear words littered through it, but oh goodness the plot was sooo good and at least there were no... girl-guy things in it, da? ;) Plus I just really loved the second Captain Vasili. Vasili was so funny! ;)

Yes! That's right, you've read about Sergei, too! We are same! *Magical internet high five*

    1. You have been thrown into Western story! What sort of job would you have in this story and would you find yourself in trouble a lot? I would probably be the school teacher, doctor, or bank robber. Wahaha! :)
    2. Time to travel! You can only go to these countries: Germany, Denmark, India, Serbia or Mexico. Where do you go and why?GERMANY! GERMANY! I LOVE GERMANY!
    3. You are going to travel in the USA for the summer and these are the states you can go to: Georgia, Texas, Utah, Colorado or Missouri. Where do you go and why? Whaaa? Couldn't you have put down Montana too? Utah. My grandparents live there, and there's beautiful country.
    4. Would you rather fish or hunt turkeys? Hunt turkey. As long as I don't have to draw it. Agggh! Horrible smells!
    5. You have been kidnapped by vikings! Do you
Let them push you around and tell you what to do
talk their ears off and drive them crazy or
make best friends with them and join their gang? I would pretend to comply, but actually have an underground freedom effort to help others.
    6. You have the choice between either working with the characters from Star Wars or the characters from Indiana Jones. Who do you choose and why? I actually have not seen either movie. But Star Wars is more techy, it seems. Besides, it's in outer-space! Who WOULDN'T like that!?
    7. Do you prefer animated movies or real movies? Depends. Because real movies become more REAL(wow, right?) to you, but animated movies are cute and can also be very touching (such as Up).
    8. What’s your favorite Christian movie? Courageous
    9. If you were to meet one character from any book, movie, TV show, etc. Who would it be and why? Reepicheep. He's just so brave and manly, I guess you might say (though he's a great deal better than some human men. so in a sense he's more of a man than they are.) Thistle the Dragon would also be fun to meet. Or Dr. Thorndyke! Ohh, so many....
    10. Monkeys are attacking your house! Do you call pest control or take care of the monkeys yourself? Take care of them myself. Actually we sometimes do have monkey problems. They'very never attacked our house, but they drive our dogs batty.
    11. And finally:
If you were to meet one of the disciples of Christ, which one would you want to meet and what three questions would you ask him? Oooo. Tough one! Either Peter or John (son of Zebedee). Both were such great followers of Christ (the others were too, of course). When did you realize Jesus is the Christ? What instigated that? (especially for John)What did you think when Jesus gave His mother to you to take care of? (to Peter) Do like or dislike roosters?
