Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!
I hope you all have a wonderful new year full of fun, contentment, love, friends, family and meaningfulness. :) Thanks for giving me such a good blog experience for my first year of blogging, I really appreciate it!

2013 was quite a hard and yet beautiful year for me. I saw many changes and went through many changes in life and am preparing for adulthood (legal adulthood, I'll always be a child at heart. ;D) this upcoming year. I thank God for what a wonderful family I have and what wonderful friends I have, all of them touched me in more ways than one as I bounced through this past year.
As far as 2014 goes, I'm curious how many people made resolutions. I did, even though I usually don't as I'm not very good at keeping my goals. I think I'm ready for some serious commitment to schedules and order. :)

Here are my goals:

1) Read the entire Bible over again and highlight key verses

2) Journal every day instead of only during school weeks

3) Take each day as a gift, not an expectation

4) Live each day to the fullest

5) Take Bodie through the entire fundamentals level of Downunder Horsemanship

6) Get Bodie to the point he can be ridden by anyone

7) Go to my first horse show? Not sure about that one as I'm not a very competitive person. I just like having fun. :)

8) Rewrite my first book

Hope you all have a wonderful year and God bless! :)

One of my favorite photos of 2013. Bodie is cantering collected and under control, not his usual 'yippee-I'm-escaping-from-you-canter.' ;)

  1. I do have a few resolutions:
    Read my Bible every day
    Jump rope every day
    Practice piano every day
    And most importantly
Rest in Jesus's love for me every day and not worry about stuff

    2. I wish I could ride a lot more then I do, but I am very happy that I can ride at all. I don't know very much, But am learning. I didn't used to be interested, then I rode a horse, and was hooked. I am being taught by a friend of ours (her blog is on my blog list -horses make me happy) . I will post something on that soon. I want to rodeo, so I am trying to get as much experience as possible.
      I love your blog!

    3. I've visited that blog before and really enjoyed it. I'm curious, does your friend follow Clinton Anderson's method? Some of the things she mentioned that they were teaching her horse sounds a lot like what Clinton Anderson does with his horse, and that's the method I use. :)
Ah, rodeo fan, eh? :) You would love to meet some of my extended family and friends, my sister's sister-in-law's horse holds the state record for pole bending and one of my friends is the best youth barrel racer in Washington. She got thirteenth place in the National Finals Rodeo. :)

I'm glad you like the blog, I like yours, too!

    4. I have no idea who's method she follows, but I can ask her! What was your friend's name?

    5. Payton Rose. I think there's a video of her online somewhere. :)

    6. I couldn't find any videos. :-(
My friend says that her trainer uses "natural horsemenship". I don't know if that's what you wanted to know or not.

    7. Yep, that's what I use too. Figured it was the same. :)

There are pictures of Payton online. You just type Paton Rose Barrel racer and hit images and there's some pictures. I guess the videos are gone now. Sorry about that. :)

  3. Happy New Year, Calamity Rene! I don't make resolutions for an entire year because, like you, I tend to forget them. :) But I do have projects and things I'm hoping to work on. Isn't it amazing to look back at a year and see the way the Lord has led? Often during the experience you feel as though your wandering about without any direction, but looking back it's so much easier to see the path you were on.
I hope your year is wonderful!
And I hope your bother's wedding went well! :D

    1. Thank you Rebekah, I'm so sorry I haven't read your blog. I have really fallen behind on my reading. :)
Yes, this year really revealed to me how much God loves me and if I just listen he has the answer. Sometimes I don't like the answer but I know it's for the best.
Happy New Year to you, too! My brother's wedding was wonderful...I cried. :) I wasn't expecting to, I didn't cry at my sister's wedding but I cried at his. :) His bride is beautiful and wonderful, I love spending time with her.
