Guest Post: Life at the McConnell's (According to pinterest)

Hey y'all! This is Jesseca from Whimsical Writings. I decided to have fun and hack into Emily's blog for the day. (Well, not really. We decided to do exchange posts. She's posting on my blog, I'm posting on hers.) Shhhh, let everyone think I'm hacking. It's more fun, da?

First off, a bit of background. Emily and I met online and have been pen-pals for three years now. We talk about everything from history to weather, and our conversation can sometimes be crazy and random, but always awesome. ;)
This year it worked out for me to be able to come out and visit her and her family. And guys, can I just say, it's been the most amazing experience ever? I still have a couple days before I leave, and we've been having so much fun!

Anyway, since we're guest posting, I thought that I would do something like . . . "Life at the McConnell's according to pinterest." (Because life according to pinterest is so much more fun than anything else, don't you agree?)

I flew out here on Monday. Which was so much fun!! Flying is so awesome! Emily and her dad picked me up Monday night. Tuesday was pretty much just like this . . .

But her family is super awesome, and they did their very best to make me feel right at home.

On Wednesday I was able to go with her to her work, which was so super fun!!! APPLES! Seriously, I didn't realize just how many varieties of apples there were! Anyway, while we were there, we got into an argument about the Water Buffalo song. You know the one . . .

My thoughts and feelings about veggie tales can be summed up in this one sentence.

So yeah. Now that she knows I don't like them . . .  Emily loves teasing me with Veggie Tales songs. ;P

And of course . . . writing! Yep, we talk about that a lot. Which I'm pretty sure you already would have guessed. ;)

Yeah, pretty sure we do that. Thought sometimes I'm thoroughly convinced they are real, not imaginary.

And we brainstorm stories and idea. *nods* It's so much more fun to do it with someone else than on your own.

She gave me chocolate. Dark chocolate. ;)

Oh, and then we got into a discussion about Walmart. Which ended up super funny! We came to the conclusions that . . .

And,

We are having a lot of fun, in case you couldn't tell. ;)

So yes. That's pretty much how everything has been so far. Super awesome and amazing!  I'm so thankful and blessed that I am able to be visiting this wonderful family Not only has it been so much fun to see Emily, her siblings and parents are just as amazing as she is.
For so long, Emily and I were internet friends, which was wonderful. But meeting in person? That was amazing. She has been such an encouragement to me as I've gone through hard times in my life, and even though I'm here now, sometimes I still can't believe it's real.

 This was us. And now?

I'm so thankful I was able to make a trip up here. Emily is amazing. She's sweet, funny and just so wonderful and easy to talk to. She encourages me in so many ways, and I've been incredibly blessed by our talks. I'm so, so thankful God let our paths cross. Isn't He so awesome that way?!

Well, that is all I have for you today. Don't worry, Emily will be back with her normal, awesome posts soon. ;) Thanks for reading and God bless!

~Jesseca

Oh, and by the way, Emily will make you drink apple cider. I'm serious. She makes you do it. Whatever happened to freedom of choice?

Comments

  1. She DOES make you drink apple cider! Even when SHE'S the guest! XD
This post was awesome Jesseca, and I'm turning as green as Larry with envy. ;)

    1. But it's the best apple cider I've ever tasted, so there is that. And Jesseca, it is unwise to advertise your dislike of VeggieTales on the internet. Especially considering the circles you run in. You do realize what you're dooming yourself to, I hope?

    2. Rebekah:
Ohh, you had cider, too? Isn't it amazing?!?!
And yes, we MUST get together next time!!

      Sarah:
Yes, that is true. It wasn't too hard to oblige her request and still be happy. ;)
Haha, yeah, I know. But that's okay. I don't like them, and if people don't like that . . . *shrugs* that's their opinion. I don't mind the teasing and looks that I get. ;)
