What to say, what to blog...

Image
There are days where I can write three blog posts and be impatient to post them. There are weeks where I want to do a blog post for every day of the week. Then there are weeks like this one... where I can't think about a thing to blog about. So I'm going to talk about a fun day at work I had yesterday. I got called out for a job that sounds like it may work into more opportunities to help this gal out with her horses and animals. The best part- I'll be riding  horses for work! I'm so excited! Yesterday, I was called at nine-thirty in the morning by this lady and she asked if I would help her get the horses ready for the ferrier.

The Random Questions Post

Image
This past week, the lovely Heidi from Along the Brandywine elected that I answer some random questions, than pass the randomness around. :) I’m excited to join in the fun, and thank you Heidi for having me do this. Here are the rules: ~ Paste the button onto your blog post. ~ Leave a new list of questions (or just pass on the question list you answered) and tag a few people of your random choice (and say why you tagged them, if you have time!) (Be original and nonsensical in your question-creativity - make the blogging world a cheerful place :-) And be disastrously random.) Now for the fun... ~Write down three facts about you - one of them is WRONG. Let your commenters guess in the comments which one is wrong (and tell them in the comments after a while) ~Answer the questions of the person who tagged you - make it all super random and interesting :-D I will start with the three facts about me, and one of them will be wrong. You commenters are to guess which one is

Changes Again...

Image
UPDATE: Pictures are working now. Got this one to work. :) Okay, so this is how my blog looks to me. Let me know if it looks the same to you! Testing, testing, one two three... As you all noticed, I changed the blog. Again. And I used a blogger template. Instead of my own. *Sighs* I had to give in to technology, because half my readers were seeing my blog one way and the other half another way. Which is sad, I don't want that happening!

Assignment 6: Entries

I received some great entries this week for the latest Write This Piece, assignment six. WOW! Fantastic job, all of you! I love how everyone has a different idea in their minds of what the music could contain. :) Like always, I ordered them in order of the way I think portrayed the music best in my view. Everyone is a winner in my eyes, you all do so well. :) First off, I’d like to congratulate first-time entrant Lydia for her wonderful piece, Secrets. Fantastic job, Lydia! I loved this piece because it was short and to the point- but so powerful and intense. I really loved it! I was so excited reading this. :D

"Follow by email" Reactivated

Image
Good morning! I deleted the "follow by email" button and reactivated it this morning. I resubscribed myself to the blog and it seems to be working. So those of you who prefer to "Follow by  email" can now resubscribe yourself. Just wanted to let you know! :D

Blogging Woes

Image
From Morguefile.com I happened to go to the library today for an extensive amount of time, and decided to check my blog on the library computer. Surprise- I discovered that it looked different  than how I designed it. AUGH!!!! I'm having tons of trouble getting the design "right" for the blog. I think I'm going to have to redo it again. On my computer and on my parent's computer, it looks fine. It looks exactly how I designed it. But on a couple people's computers, it looks different. I can't change the width or how it looks to others, either, because I uploaded the template from a different site. I've about had it with blog design, but, I shall prevail. I guess I'm just going to have to figure out a way to get a new blogger template and fix it up. *Sighs* This is what it looks like on my computer: If you could tell me what it looks like on your computer, that would be great. I'll be working on fixing this problem up somehow

A Special Prayer

Image
I am only a small part of this circle going around for prayer for a very brave girl named Brea. Today, she is having surgery for kidney cancer. She has gone through this before. Why don't we lift her up in prayer throughout the day today and pray that everything goes well and that she has a speedy recovery? Also, if you'd like to be part of the encouraging process for Brea, click this link HERE and get the instructions on how to make her a picture for her recovery.

Assignment 6: Write this Piece!

Image
So finally, we’re ready for another Write this Piece! Assignment. Yay! The song I picked out for you this week is good. And scary. I think you’ll enjoy it a lot. I get chills whenever I listen to it! Once more, here are the rules.

The Liebster Award Once More!

The Imaginary World of Emily McConnell (and the real one, too)

Image
What could be lurking in the waters at this river? Hmmm, sounds like a new story to be written! Welcome to The Imaginary World of Emily McConnell! First off, I'm terribly sorry over the confusion of the new name of my blog, considering by accident I discovered once you switch a blog's name... you also make the old link invalid and therefore people who follow the old link will discover that the blog is gone. O_o Which isn't the case, it's just been switched over... Sorry about that. Ahem. But, if you've made it this far, then welcome! You've found the blog and I'm so glad you're back! Now, I mentioned that when I wanted to switch the blog's name, I wanted something more relevant to me. Something grown up, something that meant a lot to me. I've spent the last week going over about a hundred different blog name ideas. Not kidding. I had ones like Write On Time, A Cowgirl's Scribbles, The Avantyurist , etc. Find anything releva

The Heart-Healer

Image
The Heart-Healer by  Emily McConnell Story Created By The McConnell Family Image provided by morguefile.com A long time ago in a far away land, there lived a man with a broken heart. In this land, everyone had hearts. The day a child was born, he was given a red, glass heart. This heart was very precious and very special. The people of this land were only given one heart, and they had to keep it for their whole lives. The purpose of this heart was to save it and treasure it for the rest of their lives, it was their most special possession. It was a precious gift and was meant to be guarded.

The Votes Are In!

Between the poll and the comments, I tallied up the score. Here are the results. Question: Should I make the blog public or not/change it up?

Calamity Rene and the great Northwest

I moved to Washington state from California when I was almost ten years old. The move was hard on my entire family, as seven of us had lived in the same house our whole lives. We quickly discovered we  loved  Washington though-- we got snow, great thunderstorms, there were horses in our neighborhood, lots of places to explore and we were allowed to go on walks by ourselves! (This was something we were not allowed to do in California, the area we lived in had a couple of gangs, and my parents worried something might happen to us.) It was once we arrived in Washington that my great love of writing-- and horses-- began. It's also how I earned my nickname, Calamity Rene.
