Sisterhood Award!

I was given the sisterhood award from my wonderful friend and sister in Christ, Jesseca Dawn from Whimsical Writings. Thank you soooooooooo much Jesseca! (Emphasis on the thank you! :D I am so excited!) This really means a lot to me. So here are the rules:

-Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.
-Put the award logo on your blog.
-Answer the ten questions sent to you
-Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.
-Nominate ten blogs.

Okay, here are my answers!

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Two things, actually. I will be attending the memorial of my dear Grandfather whom is the only Grandpa I ever had. He died right before Memorial Day weekend. I will be seeing all my relatives and family there and look forward to celebrating the life of my wonderful Grandpa, who has meant so much to me and my family. <3
On that same weekend I will be getting together with two very special friends whom I have yet to meet in real life- that’s right, I’m meeting up with some penpals. More on that after the fact, because all three of us are going to have a lot to share with you on that adventure. ;)

What is your favorite movie this year?
Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out. IT WAS SOOOO CUTE! I loved it! It basically described the world inside my head and what’s constantly going round in my mind. It was really fun, very cute and had such a good message to it all. My favorite movie this year, hands down. :)

Favorite instrument?
The violin/fiddle. I love the violin so much, I could listen to it all day. I love the fiddle as well. A childhood friend taught me how to play some basic tunes on his fiddle when we were very young, and I have wonderful memories of that. :)

Favorite genre of books to read?
Big surprise that no one would have ever guessed- historical fiction. ;) I will read historical fiction forever and ever and ever and ever… I really love historical fiction. And biographies! Biographies are really good.

Favorite Bible verse?
Psalm 25:5 Lead me in your truth, Oh Lord, and search me, for you are the God of my salvation, on you do I wait all day.

Favorite historical era?
The Cold War! Not very many people realize how much stuff went on in that era. Ohhhh mannnn is there a ton of things to learn about it, and things we’re still discovering! The Cuban Missile Crisis, the spy exchange, the 1983 Russian nuclear scare, the Berlin Wall… so many stories to be read and told in that era.

Favorite short story?
Do my own count? ;) Because honestly, I haven’t read very many short stories. If I had to choose one I’d choose the short story collections in Susan Marlow’s Tales from the Circle C Ranch. The one in the snow where they go and get the Christmas tree was my favorite. :) If I can choose one of my own favorite short stories, I’d have to pick Stranger or Happy Brother’s Day. Both are short stories in the Mornelly series I’m doing… everyone will get to read those sometime. ;)

Favorite food?
Steak! Or yak. I love steak. And yak. Both. Okay, steak. ;) (And yak… ;D)

Favorite hymn?
Be Thou My Vision. Goal- to sing the whole song in original Gaelic. I still haven’t gotten around to learning it all yet, but I’m planning on it!

Favorite movie soundtrack?
Noooooooooo!!!!!!! I have too many favorite movie soundtracks! That’s practically all I listen to- movie soundtracks and Christian music. I LOVE movie soundtracks! Augh!
If I had to choose just one, it would have to be Kung Fu Panda 2. I have gotten more story ideas out of that music than anything else. A close second- all the Indiana Jones soundtracks. :)

Okay, my nominees!

And here are my questions. Be prepared… for great randomness. >:-)

You discover that someone you’ve known your whole life is in fact- not real. Reaction?

Favorite old TV show? (has to be earlier than the eighties)

You open your door to discover the dandelions in your yard have actually turned into real lions. How are you going to take care of this problem?

Guinea pigs or chinchillas?

Do you follow world/national news much?

What’s your favorite verse in Revelation?

Which Nordic (Scandinavian) country do you want to visit? Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Denmark or Norway?

Do you know what the Baltics are?

If one of your fictional characters (or a character from your favorite TV show or movie or book) was to be your mentor, who would you choose and why?

And finally- would you rather be bucked off a horse and break your arm and a rib, stepped on by an elephant and break your leg or nearly drown in a river? (Okay, that’s just a weird question… ignore my random ponderings, this is how my mind works.) ;)

Thanks soooo much Jesseca for the nomination! I really was so excited to receive it! :D Can’t wait to see what everyone’s answers are! Feel free to comment and let me know when you write up your post so I can read it! :D

  1. Seriously? Thanks so much for the . . . honor(?) but it's so much work! I just got home TODAY from Arizona and it will take a few days to catch up. If I have spare time on my hands, I really should use it to create a few blog posts.

I see most of your names are my blog readers too.

I make no promises, but I am tickled you thought of me. We used to do this kind of thing over on homeschoolblogger.com back in 2007-2009, before FB took over and our wonderful blogger site closed down. Emily, you were born too late. You would have LOVED that place! You remind me of my friend, Jennifer (author name, Lyric). She was 17 or 18 and an active homeschoolblogger girl. She wrote a fantasy book and the main character's name was Lyric. She and you are so much alike!!!! Her blog was a hoot.

    1. Oh, haha, I didn't realize you were in Arizona! That explains the little amount of blogging you've done lately... ;)

You don't HAVE to answer the questions if you don't want to, I just was feeling like being ornery and tagging you. It would be great if you did, though. Of course I have some really random questions on there that are kinda weird... ;)

Yeah, most of your blog readers are my friends now. We've kinda created a whole community of blogging friends through your blog. :) Which we really appreciate you kinda getting us all together, we have so much fun reading each other's stuff and talking to one another!

AUGH! Yes, I would have probably loved that homeschoolblogger community. It sounds so much fun. But we make do with what we have and enjoy passing around challenges and awards to each other to make it interesting. So we've kind of kept up the traditions of the old homeschool blogging community. :) Thanks for commenting and I hope you get a chance to answer the questions!

  9. Yay!! Congrats, Emily, you so deserve this. :) I wasn't sure if you participated in these kinds of tags - if you'd like to do another one, I've also nominated you for the Liebster Award. No pressure, though!
