Welcome back. You have stuck through thus far and I am pleased to have you return for the next part of these... character spotlights, as our friend Emily calls them. I am confused as to why she refers to them in such a manner, but no matter. I will continue where I left off.

Once more, my name is Aichear Mornelly, in case you didn't read the previous post. I would recommend you read that one first to get more of a background, if you're interested in knowing anything about me at all. I understand if you're not, I prefer to keep most things to myself, anyways.

To continue, let's begin with Ciarán.

Ciarán Mornelly. Copyright © 2015 by Ana Mae.
Ciarán Mornelly is the second to youngest brother at twenty-one. You pronounce his name "Key-rahn." He is a skilled medic, having been training to be a doctor back in Asieopia before we got banished. Level-headed, calm, smart and very knowledgeable are all good words I can think of to describe him...
He's kind of hard to describe to someone who doesn't know him personally.
Ciarán is somewhat dark. He hardly ever speaks, roles his eyes a lot and is quite the pessimist. To him, there's no such thing as a good day, because something bad will happen. Though he is irritating in that sense, he is a practical person to have around in a medical situation, because he cannot be shaken and will handle things rationally. In fact, Ciarán is unshakable and doesn't care what anyone thinks of him. He is not susceptible to peer pressure in the least and is quite content. He prefers to spend most of his days reading, playing video games with Damhán, building with Legos and drawing. One odd fact about him? Well, there are many, but the one that sticks clearly in my mind is his fondness for Stephen King books. He loves horror books and films. I do not recommend anything he reads or watches.

Damhán Mornelly. Copyright © 2015 byAna Mae.
Damhán Mornelly is the youngest of us boys. He is also almost as tall as I am, even though he's seventeen. You say his name "Day-vahn." He lives up to the meaning as well- he is our "little ox". Damhán is many, many things. He is a leader, an instigator, an initiator, a boxer, a swordsman, and a fighter. He loves all things that have to do with fighting and studies it constantly. Interestingly enough, he is the least schooled of all of us and didn't even finish his studies, having tormented all of his tutors- and myself- by the time he was twelve. He didn't do any school past that age. He cannot stand reading or writing, but will read books on anything that has to do with any type of fighting. He is fairly good-natured and full of energy, always ready for the next thing and eager to defend anyone who needs defense. He's very impulsive and will use his fists over the slightest of offenses. His hobbies include of course boxing, video games, anything and everything to do with weaponry and how to use it, movies, causing trouble, and prank-pulling, particularly on Aileen. His one strange fact is he loves vikings. Anything and everything to do with vikings fascinates him, and he loves to collect viking artifacts and weapons.

Aileen Mornelly. Copyright © 2015 by Ana Mae.
Aileen Mornelly is our youngest sibling and the only girl in our family. Her name is pronounced "Eye-leen." At ten years old, there is a twenty year age gap between her and myself. Aileen is a very curious, timid, sweet, tiny and naturally feminine girl. She was born two months prematurely and almost died because of that, but she's pushed through her earlier health problems. Though as a result, she looks to be between six or eight years old instead of ten. Motherly and caring of anyone who needs any help, she will bend over backwards to please someone. Aileen is very compassionate, and though she gets irritated by the endless teasing she receives from us, she is quick to forgive. She does tends to be easily influenced and is quite naive, unaware of a lot of the dangers she stumbles into by trying to be like one of us, her older brothers. Damhán and her argue a lot but also tend to pal up and create trouble together. She loves to dress up and try on new outfits, and enjoys making friends with other children her own age. Her favorite things to do are sewing, cooking, playing with her dolls, playing nurse with her stuffed animals (I have been on the other end of her nursing practices and must say I shudder at the thought of her being a real nurse), and do whatever we older brothers are doing. One odd fact about her- make her angry enough and she'll tackle you without hesitation. I think she learned her impulsiveness from Damhán, for she'll tackle someone even if they're three times bigger than her.

I do believe that covers everyone in our family. Thank you for sticking through with me. I hope you enjoyed getting to know us a bit. Emily told us you enjoy these sort of things, so I'll take her word for it and trust you did. Thank you for your interest in us. We will see you around- for you most likely won't see us.

NOTE FROM EMILY: Annndddd that's it! Those are the Mornelly siblings! I hoped you enjoyed reading these. Aichear's a great writer, if I do say so myself. ;) The story post comes out this Friday. I hope you're ready for it. I think you're going to enjoy it. :)
Thanks for reading!

  1. Seriously?? You didn't introduce The most excellent Gerhard??? How could you miss him?!
Ahem, on another note, I loved reading and learning a little more about the Mornellys! I think it's neat that Damhán likes vikings. . .and swordsmanship ;)
Thank you for having Aichear do these, Emily! And I agree with you, He's a great writer! :)

    1. Aichear says there is nothing we need to tell about Gerhard, for- "It will all be told eventually and they don't know what they're asking for. They do not need to know."
In other words, The Most Excellent Gerhard is not going to be introduced yet and will have to wait his turn. ;)

Glad you liked them! Aichear says thank you, too. :)

  2. Wow, you have a very interesting family Aichear! All so different! I can't wait to read your story! :D
Emily, wouldn't it be fun to actually meet peoples', (and your own!) characters in real life? Like, face to face?
Oh boy! I can't wait to read the story post on Friday! :D

    1. AUGH!!! I want to meet my characters soooo bad! I wish I could. *Sobs* Ahem, anyways, actually, I once had a dream about meeting Warren (The guy who hijacked my blog last week) and when I woke up, I went downstairs and nearly screamed, for a man that looked EXACTLY like Warren was standing in our kitchen. He looked really surprised that I was standing there, and then I remembered the Sears guy was coming to fix the refrigerator and I'd slept in. ;) So I guess I almost met Warren once. ;)

Aichear says thank you for your kind comment, and not to worry about "embarrassing" him. (Now he's even more agitated that I told everyone that, he proclaimed he's not embarrassed, he's just not sure how to handle praise. He's very self conscientious. ;D)

    2. Haha, me too! It would be SO fun to meet my characters!
Oh no! That's really funny! Well, that's close enough to meeting him, huh? (better then nothing I guess! ;)
      You're welcome Aichear! :)
Actually, I kinda know how you feel Aichear; when people complement me, I don't really know how to respond either. It's awkward sometimes... :P

    1. Aichear says thank you and told me to inform you that "The Most Excellent Gerhard" is not on the list of people to meet anytime soon, nor does he believe anyone should want to meet him. I wish I could say more and tell you more about him, but the Mornelly brothers demanded I'm sworn to secrecy. Aileen doesn't care, but they do, so I can't say a word. He doesn't come around for a longggg time. ;)

    1. (I'm laughing as Aichear rants on, muttering why everyone wants to know who Gerhard is. He's not telling anyone, and I can't, because I've sworn I won't until the right time. ;D) Oh, JT, you would probably get along very well with my sister A. then, because she loves Ciaran as well and has characters like that. Funny you two have similar taste. :)

  7. Hey Emily, is it okay if I recommend your blog to another blogger? She has been doing a "how to write a story" kind of series thing, and I thought that your Bad Guy series would help her a lot. Would it be alright if I gave her your blog address?
    Thanks! :)

    1. Not at all! Send her my way, I'm always happy to have another blogger stop by. If she can use any of the elements from the Bad Guy posts, I would be glad it helped her out. :) My blog is public so I don't mind who stops by. Thanks for recommending me! :D

Haha, well, glad you liked the story and you "liked" the art. Reminds me of someone ELSE'S artwork. ;) And of course Ciaran's your favorite. Who else would be the dark elf Jedi's favorite character? ;)
