Image
So I got to thinking it would be fun to start a new blog post for all of us to do. I thought this up one morning while I was supposed to be doing laundry. ;) I thought it would be fun to see what all of you bloggers do to decorate your room. Introducing: What Does Your Bedroom Tell About You? Rules: Copy the questions Post pictures with your answers to the questions Nominate whomever you want Have fun! Okay, so I am going to answer the questions first and then past them at the end of the post so you can copy them and do the post as well. I hope you all enjoy and have fun! Let me know if you do the post so I can read yours! Describe your bedroom in a short paragraph. My bedroom is kinda small. I share it with my little sister R. It's usually fairly tidy and sits on the west side of the house, so I get to see the sunrise every morning. It's on the second floor. Though small it is thoroughly decorated with all kinds of purple!

Mornelly Short Stories: The Nurse is In- Part Two

Image
To read part one, click HERE . Here's the second part of Aileen's story as she attempts to help her big brother Aichear get over his virus... Aileen insisted that she’d stay the night with Aichear in case he needed something. “He might need a glass of water, or something else,” she proclaimed. Aichear was semi-annoyed by his sister’s persistence. “Aileen, I have slept and will sleep fine by myself. I can take care of myself .” Of course the younger brothers saw this as their opportunity to overpower Aichear’s dominance, and agreed that it would be best if Aileen made sure he was okay for the night. “You know, in case you start choking or something,” Damhán teased. “We wouldn’t want you to die in the middle of the night.” “I can’t die , Damhán,” Aichear growled. “There is no point in all of this.”

Mornelly Short Stories: The Nurse is In- Part One

Greetings, readers! After much prompting and trying to get the Mornellys to tell me some more stories, Aileen finally admitted to this story of a time when she tried to be a nurse. I have done my best to recount it correctly. I hope you enjoy. This story is in two parts. -Emily Lesson: It's not about knowing all the answers, it's about knowing where to find them. -Anonymous The Nurse is In by Emily McConnell Image provided by morguefile.com Ten-year-old Aileen Mornelly frowned and set down her book. What was that? She listened closely. There it was again. A faint, but definite, sneezing sound. And not just a mild sneeze, someone was sniffing and spewing non stop. That’s odd. It was six in the morning. Aileen had gotten up twenty minutes ago, finding none of her big brothers awake. Someone was awake now, though, and he sounded sick. Perhaps she should find which one of her brothers had decided to come down with an illness. It’s not fair. She sto...

July/August: Part Two

Alrighty, here's the next part of my picture post. Glad you enjoyed the last one. I take tons and tons of pictures, but I never seem to post them until the last second. Which is why I have soooo many of them... oh well, hope you enjoy!   The giant "Hansen" apple at my work. We hung this up early in June, I just never got around to taking a picture of it. :)

July/August: Part One

It's time for another big long picture catch up post! I'm going to do three separate posts on this: two for what's been going on since July and the other is a post about the fires in Washington. (I have a picture of every single fire I've seen this Summer... and there's been a lot  of them.) So to get started, let's go through July!

Update

Hello blog readers, I have a quick update on my little sister R. R is home now from the hospital, they sent her home on Saturday. She is happy to be home and is responding quite well to the Chemo treatment. We're so happy to have her back. She often has lots of doctors appointments throughout the week, which she doesn't like too much, but the staff at the hospital is amazing and so very nice to her. Thank you for all your prayers. We really, really appreciate it. :) R smiled when I told her that "people love you! They're praying for you!". That made her very happy. <3 Thanks again for praying. I'm hoping to resume my regular blogging schedule soon, but we'll see. There will be another Mornelly post sometime soon, I have some short(er) stories to post on them. Thanks again for praying and for all your support. It means so much to us!

Prayers and Praises

Image
Dear blog readers, This past week has been probably one of the most trying ones for our family. We've been through a lot this past year, with the passing of my Grandfather and Uncle and a cousin, but I'd like to ask for prayer for my little sister R. You might remember me asking for prayer for her earlier this year when she had a really bad fever. R is twelve and has Down Syndrome, a disability that makes her act younger than she is and she has problems growing and processing things. This past Wednesday my sweet little sister R was diagnosed with  Acute lymphoblastic leukemia  and is even now going through Chemo as I write this. It was a shock to the entire family and the doctors- no one would have ever guessed. To think that R, who already has Down Syndrome, could get cancer, is mind blowing. It's terrifying. It's scary. It hurts inside more than I care to tell. She doesn't understand why she has to stay in a hospital, why she has to be hooked up to an IV o...
